Thought on higrise Z28 wing
 

This is not meant to be offensive to this with the 91-92 Z28 wing on a pre 91 model, but I'm just wondering if I'm the only one that feels this way.

I've been going thru the Readers Rides and I've seen a lot of Pre-91 Camaros with the 91-92 Highrise wing on it. Personal opinion is it looks kind of funny. The rear bumper on the 91-92 gfx flows really well with the highrise.

Does anyone else think it looks funny on a pre-91 gfx set?

i think it looks funny with louvers

looks best with blisters (i have blisters and the hi rise....sort of a Z28 clone)

Honestly, who craes what other people think.

I am getting hood blisters for my car because my vents flew off lol.

I have also been contemplating the high rise, i want something different ont he back of my car lol.

How much does the high rise spoiler weight?

personally i think people can do whatever they want, and no i don't think it looks bad

Yeah, I'll agree its definately personal preference and taste, I was just curious if I was the only one that thought it looks a tad bit off.

My car is an 88 Maro. And I've got the 91/91 rs spoiler. And it looks like its supposed to be on there. I couldn't even picture my car without it.

EDIT: My spoiler hasn't been properly fitted yet, (Didn't get new deck lid, or fill old holes.) But still looks good to me :)

I agree, it looks slightly strange. But there really aren't a lot of tasteful options for ThirdGen Camaros....unless you tack on an awful wing or something. Considering that, I can understand them choosing a high-rise even though their car is pre-91.

not a bash on you at all, but a high rise spoiler flows better then a trans am wing...

It looks slightly off but not as bad as some of the guys around here who have a stock 3 piece spoiler and the high rise on there car. :rolleyes: I'll try and get a picture if I see him out this weekend........jt

This wing does not look odd to me. I think it gives our 3rd gens alittle sharpness.. i kno some of yous may think differently . but a car isnt supposed to be what everyone else thinks, its supposed to reflect yourself in ways; not always what others think. just do what you want its cool

I guess I should rephrase my comment.

It doesn't look "odd" so much as it looks like its missing something on pre-91 car.

If you look at the rear bumper on a 91-92 car, the lower part kind of flares out. Yes, the difference is very subtle, but to me it stands out immediately.

It doesn't look as nice as with the 91-92 Gfx, but it doesn't look "odd" IMO. It looks great, just not quite as good as it could...

i like them but i think i like alot without it cause they dont have the whole car flowing with the wing like..nothing on a 82 with a high rise wouldnt look good imo

I wanna put the high-rise spoiler for the 91-92 Maro on my bird. I have the smaller deck spoiler right now, and I don't like the t/a spoilers in that year. :p

They look good on any f-body... who cares if others don't think it looks "right".. it's just an opinion..

Wow, I had yet to see a firechicken with a maro wing, but after seeing it, it makes me like it that much more!! :D

I think it looks nicer with the Firebird/TA taillights than it does the Camaro taillights. Just has a cleaner look to it........jt

I also think it doesnt look right with a pre 91 rear bumper so that why i changed mine. Also think it looks better with blisters i have the louvers and somethin is justa lil off.

I'd never call it a "wing" that reminds me of r*ce. I think the Highrise Spoiler looks the best with the 91-92 ground effects, the power blister hood (or after market hood) and 16 inch or bigger wheels. The highrise set the 91 and 92 Z28's from the rest of the Camaro's from the third generation class. That's how you can really tell the difference from an RS and a Z28 in 91 and 92. I'm not sure if most of you guys know...but I found out that the HighRise Spoiler is a Ferrari F40 style spoiler....it's listed on Iroc Dave's Camaro information page

Yep it does look more at home on a Bird/ TA

I guess as it looks so much like the wing found on most 82+ Birds.
Just a tad taller with longer side skirts.

I really dont get it why people say it looks odd, the only diff from the rear bumper is the little flare, in most pics you can't even notice it

can somone post a pic from directly behind a true 91-92 and compare it to my 86 z28... im not quite sure of the "flare" you guys are talking about.......

LOL yeah i see what your saying now.... never realized that before until you guys say something about it... not a big deal to me.... you can tell the car isnt a 91-92 anways just by the third brake light and front/side ground effects, not to mention the interiors

Thanx i Like yours man with the iroc z and the 92 gfx. I was lookin for the rockers effects also.

i think it looks fine. you all just used to seeing it on the 90's models. i have a v6 body style and im going to use it. i also have a notch back... the wing i have on there now i want to use on my GTA. its actually a fiero GT wing i have

No your car looks great but i think the same about mine that somethin looks off. Like with the highrise i think u need a hood with some rise or somethin to it. Also with a higher spoiler i think a car needs lower gfx.

Thats also why imports look so funny all stock with just a big spoiler.IMO

I think it looks ok on most cars, as long as they have the 16" wheels. Looks odd on cars with the 15" wheels... car looks too tall.
