85 Trans Am Headlight Motors One Switch to Two Switches? I searched a bit before I decided to post. But couldn't find anything. I barely have any experience with working on cars, let alone electrical work. How hard would it be to wire the headlight motors to two different switches. I feel this might get hate but I have friends who have 90s miatas and I just want to join in on the fun of making it wink. I currently need to replace the motors anyway so I figured I'd go ahead and try and do it. But wanted to see how hard it would be. |

Re: 85 Trans Am Headlight Motors One Switch to Two Switches? Nothing wrong with being different. Should be real easy just disconnect ground or power from one light and run it through a toggle switch to keep that light on or off. |
Re: 85 Trans Am Headlight Motors One Switch to Two Switches? The dual headlight control is on the circuit board inside the headlight control module. You can't split the signals ahead of that. |

And now , as odd as I also think it would be to make the car "wink" a quick read of the 1985 headlight wiring diagram shows that taking separate control of either one of the motor actuator relay's pink wire would produce the desired result . princessofbankai , I have now given you the "road map" to get to where you want to go , even though I'll never go there myself . It's now your responsibility to use the power of the wink for good only , used carelessly the wink can unleash all kinds of universal mayhem on a truly biblical scale :lmao: https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...5b68b7fe33.gif |

Re: 85 Trans Am Headlight Motors One Switch to Two Switches? “Winking”, you mean like one headlight is up and one is down? That’s called needing a new headlight motor or rebuild, not a good thing, something to be avoided. |

Mine did when I bought it,lol. When the 3rd gen Firebirds came out I loved the pop up headlights. It was so...(80s) tech. I still dig it, neat feature for sure. |

Everyone has their own vision of what's cool. For example, some people think KITT replicas are cool. When someone can get one to go from t-top to convertible with the press of a single white button, 3rd season I believe, then I will be really impressed. HAHA I mean, where would that big piece of rear glass go??? |

Just because you think something doesn't make it true. Cars are supposed to have more than one headlight. Kids these days. SMDH... |

I feel this might get hate... Build what you like Princess. I guess if the circuits are completely separate, then there would be no need to add diodes to prevent feedback.... |
