9 bolt rotor removal..... suckers are ON!
 

well i'm doing the brakes on her 88 formula
i thought it was a 10 bolt rear, it's a 9'er

anyway
how the heck do the rotors come off?
i have them soaking with pb blaster
i tried hammering them, but broke the hammer

they just slid on/off?
it's got your typical rust on it
but i tried clearing it with a screwdriver

any tips?

Rust is a wench, they are just slid on. try hitting around the front of the hub, without hitting the hub itself or the studs. the "shock" may break them loose.

I was not smart enough to think of this...another on the boards told me how to get one of mine off. I was able to get part of my camaro jack between the heavy (thick) part of the backing plate and the rotor. Slowly expand the jack and it will pop right off. Worked for him and worked for me. It really put no stress on the backing plate...was only able to catch a small part of the jack pad but poof...magic and it was off.
Good luck...I don't recall exactly how I positioned everything but it will work.

got em off

had to soak em up good
then use some MAP gas on it to heat it
then used my smalled sledge hammper
finally broke off

what a chore

i also used the wire brush on it before and after to get any debri off

the new ones slid on

i used the raybestos drilled and slotted rotors
nice pieces

LOL, I had a shop do my last brake job, I also have the 9 bolt rear. They couldn't get one rotor off so they heated it with a torch and warped it. They had to replace that rotor on their dime.

I saw a guy doing brakes on a van and he soaked the back side of the rotor where it slips over the studs with anti-sieze when he was putting it back together.
