weird??? well i was driving the otherday and my passenger side rear drum was making a strange noise so i parked it at home, then i took it back out and as i was pulling out the driveway the rear tire locked up for a second or two when i applied the brakes. so i got out and noticed i was missing a lugnut, then i pulled the wheel off and the drum and seen that a rear pad was explodied and these pads are new with only 3000 miles at the most. what will cause a pad to explode, can it be the missing of a lugnut?? also just one is exploded the other is fine?? |
anyone??? i need help |
maybe it just got hot, maybe they werent' adjusted right. Check to see that the drum is OK, replace the shoe, and get motoring. Ed |
Were they bonded type pads with no rivets to hold them to the shoe ? If so you could have gotten a bad one and it let loose and kinda got ground up in there. |
i bet ur right miller now that i think about it i didnt focus hard on the adjustment and i just paid for it, jet, these pads do have rivets in them holding them on the shoe another question should i usa ac delco pads? or a aftermarket brand??? |
