craigslist, ebay motors, autotrader, forums, now trying word-of-mouth for an 85-89

the bug has bitten, and despite the temperamental nature of cars undergoing restoration, i need better leads on what i'm looking for.

here's the scoop: looking for a third gen IROC in better-than-running shape, not looking for a barn-dusted major project. i actually want to DRIVE the car more than wait for parts.

i've found that it is largely a matter of timing: if you are not looking at the right time, you won't find it.

that's why i'm asking if regular contributors to this site might be able to help me find what i'm looking for, despite my daily crawling of thirdgen.org and a dozen other websites.

i've been pretty disappointed by some of the stuff for sale on the web, so i'm hoping some word-of-mouth might generate better results.

looking to spend somewhere around $6000, with the expectation that i might have to sink $4000 more in parts to get it where i am happy.

anyhow, any help is appreciated and PM's are welcome.

the quest continues...

i am amazed at the number of third generation camaros out there, but how FEW are in decent shape.

seems to make sense now why so many people jump on anything stock or mint with one owner.

I've got a 87 IROC in great condition in Georgia. It's my daily driver and runs like a dream.

I've got an '84 that I'm selling, but no one seems interested. Here's the link: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/cama...ouston-tx.html
I'm in Houston too.

yup - been finding that out for the past two weeks.

Black Book value on the one listed above was about $9000, and the seller wanted a helluva lot more than that...

back to looking.

my camaro is on ebay as i write this, you said you want to spend 6 on it and 4 into it. you can take mine for that and it's done. i spent 5 years and 25g's later and now i have to sell it because i am moving out of the country. it is a shame because i did not have time to enjoy it ( i finished it 2 months ago )
check it out, look under iroc z28 it's the blue iroc with the zz383 stroker motor

I will take 10,000 for my car. that is exactly what you thought it would come out to and you wont have to put any money into it.
