sealing rear 6x9's

ok i installed my new 6x9's in the sailpanels but the screws dont want to go in tight.....what should i do....1/2" mdf panel instead of metal maybe?

how about this idea kinda on the wild side but hey it may work. go up one size on the screw, maybe a sheet metal screw, self tapper may be the way also, forget the wood.

i took a piece of 1/4 mdf (i had 1/4 and 3/4) and traced the metal plate (rectangle) and marked the 6x9 opening.. I used that.. and it is real good. I put 5.25" coaxial JL's not 6x9's but you can bolt up the 6x9 just fine.

lol..hey im not a complete idiot....the speakers had been replace once and the wholes are BIG

sometimes new speakers come with the little clip for the screws to go into. those work really well at getting them down tight.

well i have 2 infinity kappas in my sail panels and they were rattling like crazy. so i made up a wood plate and siliconed it to the car :p. much better sound, but now other things are vibrating...i need some sound dampening
