speaker and box volume... say i have a speaker, and the recomendation is for a sealed enclosure with .88 cubic feet. if i were to put it into a sealed enclosure with .85 cubic feet would that be a terrible nono or would the .03 cubic feet be not to big a deal??? thanks in advance. |
Sealed boxes are more forgiving to differences in volume. A +/- 10% variation is usually hardly noticable. Making the box slightly smaller isn't going to make much difference. Just pack it with about 3/4 to 1lb of polyfill. ------------------ The IROC Homepage View the restoration of an 85 IROC "I didn't know a bored out Ford could go so slow" -Shenandoah |
Gee, .88? Sounds like Solobaric 12 spec! I'm about to build a box for one, and it is going to be a bit over (small bit). Also, make sure that you are using internal volume of the box. I used to get this messed up and use the outside volume. In a small box, that can make a big difference! ------------------ Working on: '84 Z28 LG4 305 Added dual elec fans. 145 MPH IROC Speedo Building 430 HP 350 using primarily GMPP parts.
