Edelbrock leaking fuel?

I installed a used but fairly new 750 edelbrock on my new engine. I am only able to work on it on the weekends. It has the stock electric fuel pump in tank, and a mallory fuel regulator. When I try to crank it for the first time each week, it has to prime for several revolutions. The needle on the fuel pressure gauge bounces erratic until I get the engine cranked, after that it,s steady, I dont find any fuel leaks and thought that the gas in the carb should last at least a week in the carb, since the temp is below 80*. Is this normal?:help:

Re: Edelbrock leaking fuel?

my car does the same thing, when i don't run the car for a few weeks,,it will take quite a few cranks to get it started, i have a 1405 edelbrock..if i run it weekly , it won't need cranking as much and start up quickly,, it did this also when i had the holley carb on it before i switched to the edelbrock.

Re: Edelbrock leaking fuel?

The volatile compounds in the gasoline evaporate out of the bowl when it sits.
