on the waterpump there is an extra hole on the drivers side on the mounting flange under the bolt holes that actually goes into the pump... what is that for?

well i heard it was for a bypass or something in the block but i have a 96 block that its not used on so i sealed it with metal filler... i just wanna make sure it wont mess up my pump.

It's a bypass hole. Used with the correct gasket, it will seal against the block so there's no need to fill it.

ehh i figure its just on less spot to worrie about leaks...
also i was wondering if there is a way to test a waterpump with it off the car to make sure all the seals are good?
its a flowkooler pump that was on an old project car and was taken off and has been sitting in a garage for probably 3yrs or so. it spins free but i wanna make sure the seals inside arent gonna leak.
