ostrich help

ok i am borrowing a ostrich tuner from a friend and it is has the usb connector on it. I am also using tuner pro rt. Well i conenct it to my computer and the connect it to the cars odb1 connetor. All of this is done with the car turned off. Well when i turn the car ignition to the on position, my ses light flashes and i hear the fans kick on and when i click emulate on the software nothing happens it keeps saying no hardware found. i installed drivers from when it was connected to the internet but i was not sure if i have the right drivers. Anyways What am i doing wrong. All i am really wanting to do is see what my sensors are doing and see if anything is going wrong. any help will be appreciated much

Does the Ostrich require com ports be aligned?

Did you check Moates website as far as instructions for use?

The Ostrich uses a off the shelf USB cable. One end goes to a USB port on your laptop, the other end goes to the Ostrich.

If you are data logging, then an ALDL cable is used between the ODB-1 port (ALDL port) and another port on the laptop.

RBob.

Re: ostrich help

yes i have that aldl cable that goes from the odb1 port to the ostrich. I am just not sure whee the settings for the switches need to be on the ostrich. It has two switches. One switch has 3 settings and the other switch has only 2 setting. The one with 3 setting is vertical and moves up and down and the other switch is horizontal and moves left to right. If i have the switch that is vertical all the way down it flashes the ses light and i hear the fans come on. In any other positions it is just fine nothing happens

You need to re-read my post.

Can find the switch settings on moates.net, they may also be printed in small print on the label.

RBob.

P.S. why is it I suddenly get the feeling that this is an AutoProm, and not an Ostrich...
