hello
i want to find out something about headlights...
im not a specialist in electronics and wiring.

these 2 cars have 2 rectangular headlights, same size and appearance and i think same bulb type???perhaps H7 or H3???

1)tell me please, whats the go with this last night shot?
both headlights are on.they seem to me they have the same brightness,so i guess they are both low beam and somehow they get brighter to become high beam?

2)in stock 3rd and 4th gen headlights, both 2 headlights have same bulb type?how does the high beam lights up more than low beam if they are same bulb and they are same headlights?its all about wiring maybe?

thanx a lot,and i know that more questions will come up

Re: headlights question

The outboard lights are "dual-beam". They have two filiaments in them, one for low-beam and one for high-beam. When the low beams are on, only the low-beam filiament is lit. When the high beams are switched on, the low-beam filiament is turned off and the high-beam filiament is turned on. The inboard high-beam lights only have a single filiament that's only on when the high beams are turned on.

Re: headlights question

you are talking about the 4th picture only???
and you say that both lights used for low beam, and they become brighter when you hit high beam switch???
if you reply yes,i guess its someway like H4 bulbs, one bulb used for low and how beam

and if its like that, what is happening in the 3rd pic?its the same car and only one headlight is on.
maybe it is used as a marker light?and if you hit low beam, then both lights light up?
