Battery cable trouble The ends on my battery cables are pretty gnarly so I wanted to cut them back and splice them, but can I safely (and legally) do that? Or is there a way to just replace the whole battery cable without a harness swap? |

Re: Battery cable trouble The negative cable is easier to do; it's right on top. The positive is a bit trickier only because of tight quarters (I have an 8 cyl. TPI) but if you have a jack & stands, it will be easier. Figure about a half hour for removal and re-install of both. I bought Duralast Gold 2 gauge at Autozone for about 13 bucks each. If that's too much, they have less expensive options. |
