Question about the pull down motor

I just picked up a pull down motor to replace my old one. The new motor has a 5 pin harness while my old one had 4 pins. Will it still work? It's the same 747-000 part number. Came out of a Cadillac. My other question is, while I was installing the new motor before hooking it up I realized that my relay is missing but not only that the previous owner cut most of the wires that connect to the relay. Anyone have a part number for the relay and what wire goes to what pin (87, 87a, etc) on the relay and if any relay will work. Any help is greatly appreciated!

So this schematic shows a module with 4 wire (or pins). His replacement has 5. So will the 5 pin work?

Subcribing;

Curious to know if/what Caddy PPD parts are compatible with our cars. Did you buy JUST the motor itself?? What year was it from ??

I remember trying to use a caddy PPD hatch motor for parts one time,...seem to remember that while the plastic gear was compatible with the Thirdgen Camaro PPD motor assembly, the MOTOR itself and the motor clear plastic motor housing was different.

Not sure if that Caddy part is going to be a straight fit. Pics?

Re: Question about the pull down motor

From what the junk yard said the part exchanges but in not sure. It bolts in with no problem but has a 5 wire plug I'd read of the 4 wire plug so in not 100% sure if it will or not. Been looking online the past few days and no luck on if it does or not lol I go tomorrow to get the relay so if it works I shall let you guys know.

Looks like when the plug is in this position i can run it fron the battery itself. I will let you guys know more once its installed if there was any modification i had to do. I did have to change the shaft that connects to the slide.<br/>

Re: Question about the pull down motor

Everything is plugged in and the motor lowered perfectly fine but when I press the release button it does nothing. So I guess the 5 pin motor works but doesn't work?

Re: Question about the pull down motor

So after messing with it for a while the motor does work. You will need the 5 pin harness for it to make it work though. The wire splicing is as follows...
4pin - 5pin
Blue - Orange (pin A)
Brown - Red with black stripe (pin E)
White - Blck (pin D)
Orange - Red (pin B)

Re: Question about the pull down motor

Well if it works, it works! And if I recall correctly, my connectors had the same wire colors as yours but I didn't need to mess with it. I couldn't make heads or tails of the brown and white and blue. I guess GM messed up their manual. Great job!

Re: Question about the pull down motor

Cadillac had 2 different pull down switches, year model depending. I remember the motors were the same

Re: Question about the pull down motor

Yeah they have 2 different pull down switches so it makes it a pain in the *** lol I got mine from a 96 deville since the switch looked similar to mine.
