Did any 3rd-gen come with electronic cruise? I'm swapping TPI into my Caprice and I'd like to retain the cruise control. My car has the AC "Electro-Motor" cruise box used on a bunch of the B-bodies, trucks, and I think 4th gens got them. Did any third-gen come with the electronic cruise? Or did they all get the vacuum system? Just wondering if I can hunt for the right cable, or if I'll have to build something. Thanks in advance. -Pat |
Re: Did any 3rd-gen come with electronic cruise? Vacuum. But it's not a big deal, the system works fine, if you can mount a vacuum valve to the brake pedal anyway. Or figure out what vss signal your cruise uses and determine if tpi can send it. |
Re: Did any 3rd-gen come with electronic cruise? Some tpi maf with the 1227165 ecm non cable drive used a vss buffer . https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...1a8aacfba.jpeg The 730 ecm cruise output is pin c1 |
Re: Did any 3rd-gen come with electronic cruise? Nuts. Looks like I'm making a cruise cable! Thanks guys. |

So just clip the existing cable in the bracket, hook up a chain, and hook the loop to the chain at the required length. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/12EAA...~4/s-l1600.jpg |
