Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed Is the dash pad in good shape...cracked at all? If not, shipped to 34997? It's a business address if you were to do freight or something. Also, did the alternator work? If it is the 105 amp and will work in my '88 Trans-Am, how much shipped as well. Thanks. |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed can't remember condition of dash pad, will check on that in this coming week...the car is half an hour from where i live so thats the issue with trying to go out and look. I will also check the amperage of the alternator, might be 105, not sure. I will be sure to get back to you by the middle of the week. |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed Whats the mileage on it? |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed motor has less than 75,000 on it. It was put in at about 53,000 (original miles on donor vehicle). Carb is big enough for a 350 i believe, will have to check the specs if you're interested in it. |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed Any idea how many are on the transmission? |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed Transmission was replaced at the same time as the motor, original motor was still good, tranny was bad, but figured swap low miles 305 in at the same time. Mileage on the transmission is about 100k. Comes complete with a brand new, low miles clutch, less than 2000 miles, fly wheel is still good, and everything is tight on it, no grinding, no hesitation, tight clutch, everything is good. |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed will help with delivery within reason on parts...throw me offers, like to have this done before snow fall. once i get someone interested in trans or engine, the rest of the car is being parted with it, otherwise it's staying in one piece. No sense in tearing apart a perfectly running, driving, inspected till july 2010 car. $800 will take the whole car right now, otherwise i will just have to stick it in my garage for the winter and sell the whole car next spring. |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed What kind of rear end is a 9bolt? |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed Would have to guess a 10 bolt. I will correct this post if it is a 9 bolt. |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed 5 speed sale pending. NEW PRICE: Complete 305 engine, $200, carb to oil pan, complete and running. Can start up for video confirmation if desired, can drive in the next week or two if desired. She does pull really hard for a 305. After that it's getting pulled with the 5 speed. Anything else needed, let me know! |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed Seats and steering column spoken for as well. Like to get rid of this stuff, make reasonable offers! |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed Why doesn't anyone live in Oklahoma? lol I need headrests, center caps and lug nut caps, and.......any related parts that go around the stereo......don't ask. lol |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed how much for the trans and driver side tail light, arm rest shipped to 49048 ? i am very interested |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed What color headrests do you need? I may have a few gray bird ones laying around. The wheel center caps go with the Formula/Trans Am wheels, and how many wheel caps do you need? I may have a few kicking around. Transmission is considered sold, i took down payment yesterday. Driver side tail light is $25 plus shipping. I will have to look into shipping. Gotta find a box first, and i won't be by the car for a few days so it may take a day or two for the estimate. |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed Any color headrests would be fine. I plan on getting them recovered anyway. The car has light brown seats. Also, do you have the hardware that goes on top of the seats for the headrests? That's missing too. I take as many caps as you will part with. |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed I'll have to see what i have. Do you want camaro head rests or bird head rests? I remember hardware underneath camaro headrests, don't remember hardware under bird headrests but it's been a while since i've looked at a firebird seat. And i appologize for miss-speaking above. I meant that i may have a few lug nut caps kicking around. If you are still interested, when i go to my shop next i will see how many extra's i have. |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed I have a Bird. Are the Camaro headrests different? I don't know. I'll take all the caps you can spare. Thanks. |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed What color is console ? What condition is it in ? And what color is it ? |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed Hello is the complete 305 motor still available? |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed Complete 305 is still available. Tearing car apart in a week, so if you would like to hear it run and test drive it a bit, you're welcome to set up an appointment ASAP. I do believe i have two gray firebird headrests available and still need to find my extra caps. Camaro headrests are slightly different shape. Let me know if the gray bird head rests interests you. Center console is the dark gray i believe most, if not all firebird consoles are supposed to be and it's in excellent shape. I may have another one in excellent shape too. I will have to check. |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed 84redta, PM sent about the headrests. I need them. My car has none. |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed What was the reason for tearing this car apart? (just curious) |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed didn't want the car, picked up a 1990 IROC, and $800 wasn't getting any nibbles, of which the car was purchased for $1000 originally and a lot of money and work went into it, with new clutch, motor swap to lower miles motor, radiator and things here and there. Otherwise the car was/is completely usable and was inspected so someone would have had to just register it and drive off. I hate to have done it, but there was no means to protect it over winter so it would have sat in a snowy driveway to rot away. Hate to part it, but no other choice really, could use the money. |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed TTT. Make offers! |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed Bump, everything is for sale except transmission. Running 305, trans am/formula 16" wheels with tires, make me an offer! |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed post on NY thirdgen.com no space |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed Get those headrests out yet? |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed Hey there tater, i do apologize for the long wait. I broke my finger getting the transmission out and i haven't played with much of anything with the car, and i honestly forgot about the headrests. I did get one out, just need to pull the other one of which i can do tomorrow, and then can get them out Monday if payed by this weekend. I will pull them tomorrow and get you details of the transaction. I thank you for reminding me and again apologize for the delay. Talk to you soon. Jon |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed How much for the driver's side fender shipped to Tucson, Az 85701? |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed Jon, that's cool. I am only half way complete on my V8 conversion so it is not an emergency....lol. Just checking. |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed are the doors power? |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed The_Phoenix : I will have to get the demensions and get back to you. Never shipped one before and want to make sure i can make a box that will make it there safely. tater : Yea, I've just been swamped lately and breaking my finger on something stupid really did slow me down that much more. I just need to find a box to fit both headrests in and i will get you that shipping quote. xxvictimxx26 : The doors have power windows, and from the looks of it, have power locks and manual mirrors. Let me know if that's what you're looking for. http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/PA050174.jpg http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/k...d/PA050165.jpg |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed Ok, I'll check back regularely. Do you know if it will accept the Trans Am/GTA ground effect? Thanks, Phoenix |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed You will have to drill the holes, but yes. The two fenders on my car are regular firebird fenders that had no holes...now they have these: http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/k...m/P5250332.jpg very easy, 5 holes total, very easy to do, took me less than 10 minutes after measuring. |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed ya im looking for a set of manual window doors |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed Are you looking for the doors themselves or the manual regulators? I do have manual regulators, of which i can sell to you with the doors if you'd like. I even have a/c and non-a/c glass if that was an issue. But i do have everything to change a power door to manual, including regulator, handles, everything but the rivits of which i can get from a GM dealership if you'd like. Let me know. |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed im in florida so i dont think itd be worth the shipping sorry to waste your time but if you were down here id take em |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed Well if you find a nice set of power doors down there and you need manual regulators and everything, i can still get you those. Otherwise good luck with you search! Jon |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed interested in rear axle if still available. what is your location, is the rear a 10 bolt or 9 bolt, is it lsd, what gear ratio? thanks. |
Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-Top 5 Speed 10 bolt, and i believe it's 3.08 and not positive if it's a posi or not, codes aren't in the car and it's going to have to wait a little while, still got a foot of snow where the car sits. It is drums, but the axle is complete. |
