Re: Jeep cherokee steering shafts "fully cleaned, prepped, painted and welded jeep cherokee steering shaft".. for what/purpose? |
Re: Jeep cherokee steering shafts To replace the stock rag joint with a "solid" setup. Adds stiffness and response to your steering |

Re: Jeep cherokee steering shafts Very simple, the only thing needed to do is to grind a little of the top part of the steering wheel connector so the bolt slides through |
Re: Jeep cherokee steering shafts PM sent. |
Re: Jeep cherokee steering shafts I haven't received one |
Re: Jeep cherokee steering shafts Should have one now. |
Re: Jeep cherokee steering shafts What exactly did you need to weld on the XJ shaft? Those are basically bolt in as is. Just curious... Justin |
Re: Jeep cherokee steering shafts Typically I'll throw a bead on the upper part of the shaft that "turns" to create a more solid connection. Basically weld the middle upper shaft to the coupler. If I feel it needs it, I do if the middle shaft is good and tight, I'll leave it be |
Re: Jeep cherokee steering shafts Received mine yesterday. Looks good to go. Probably install this weekend. (Ordered through FB listing on 3rd gen swap group.) |
Re: Jeep cherokee steering shafts Awesome, glad you got it |

Re: Jeep cherokee steering shafts I'm very interested in a modified astro shaft from a non AWD astro. How long does it normally take for you to get one and get it ready for a plug and play? And how much? |
Re: Jeep cherokee steering shafts I can have one ready in a few days, I can let them go for $60 shipped |
Re: Jeep cherokee steering shafts What is the difference between the Jeep and the Astro shafts? |

Re: Jeep cherokee steering shafts Ok I picked up a few astro shafts for those who wants them instead. I'll get them cleaned up and pics taken later |
Re: Jeep cherokee steering shafts what are the odds, I just bought a cherokee and the joint is pretty corroded and concerns me. Would this still work in a xj or does the mod prevent it? |
Re: Jeep cherokee steering shafts Do you mean the cherokee shaft is going in a jeep? |
Re: Jeep cherokee steering shafts yep, right into a 99 cheroke |
