biggest engine for a camaro what is the biggest engine you can fit in a 92 camaro. I thought it was a 383 but i just seen on here some one said on there specs they had a 402. |
Re: biggest engine for a camaro There really isn't "limit" on what will physically fit...A 514 big block will fit...Legally? No...,but it'll fit. Granted, a scoop will be required for intake clearance, but it'll fit. Now...Legally? Gen 1 block...406 small block... LT, same... LS....I've seen 472s, but I'm not sure the life of those & don't wanna know the life span! :lmao: |
Re: biggest engine for a camaro you can fit any engine in your camaro.. its just how much do you want to spend.. just because the displacement number is high, doesnt mean the engine is physically big.. anything from a 283 to a 421+ is the same physical size.. read up about chevy engines before you get yourself into a pickle with engine stuff.. theres alot of things that you can learn from magazines.. go to the store and pickup a chevy car mag.. car stuff is like any other hobby.. you dont want to fight in the UFC if you dont know anything about it.. :2cents: |
Re: biggest engine for a camaro All SBC engines are the same size externally so any size SBC will fit. You can also drop in any short deck BBC. A tall deck BBC takes a bit more custom work. I have a 540 BBC in mine but it's not street legal. |

Re: biggest engine for a camaro Pretty sure he has a track only car. Every state has different laws, inspection, emissions, etc. Somebody was doing a viper V-10 swap. Not sure if it ever got finished? But a big block will fit in there fairly easy. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...6d4a78a0f1.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...458cb80068.jpg |
Re: biggest engine for a camaro there are 3rd gen's out there with 959 cubic inch engines. the actual cubic inch number is INTERNAL, the physical size of the engine is either small block, big block, v6, v10, etc etc |
