1983 Trans Am ** PARTING OUT ** Lots of GREAT Parts

1983 Pontiac Trans Am

This car is being parted out. It runs and drives and has a very nice interior, T-tops, 305 cid with Holley 4 barrel carb, high performance coil, 8.8 mm wires, new fan shroud, power seats, power windows & door locks, working headlight motors and all the other features of T/A's of the period.

A complete photo listing can be viewed here:1983 Pontiac Trans Am - STEPHEN's Pontiac

I am not listing prices at this time, so please make your requests via PM or on this post.

Shipping is not cheap especially for larger items. I will do my best to keep them in line. Sometimes I have to purchase boxes and/or packing material. Some items (consoles, dash pads, tail lights, etc) are too large for me to pack and they will be professionally packaged. This adds to the costs.

This is not my first car parted out on TGO.

tpi-hearse 04-08-2006 09:12 PM

Why are you parting it out? Is it rotted out?

Sit Right Back & You'll Hear A Tale...........

No. It is not rotted out. I have owned this car 6 or 7 years and drove it only one year. It needs a little work, but basically I am tired of it being in my driveway. I sold it once and I bought it back a short time later for a quarter of what I sold it for.

I still have a "plain jane" '87 Firebird that my youngest son and I are finishing for him to learn how to drive in. I also have a '92 Camaro RS convertible that I pull out of storage when the weather is nice. I just bought a '68 Mercury Cougar that is going to be my current project.

I figure I will get more parting it out than just selling it outright. That is how it worked on my daughter's '87 Firebird after she wrecked it and I parted it out.

There you go.

Steve

1982TA 04-08-2006 11:30 PM

I got dibs on center console...how much for the upper part??

ling427ttvette 04-09-2006 01:09 AM

Would the driver side interior door handle fit an 83 Camaro?

If so, what do you want for it, shipped to 73834?

EDIT: What color are the sun visors, if those are tan, add those to the list. :)

Agent13 04-09-2006 01:44 AM

What shape are those grilles in?

hawkwilliam 04-09-2006 02:04 AM

hey dude

you hit me up to buy some fenders, i sent numerous emails and never heard back, whatup dog?

be careful guys,

peace out
B

shipfitter_sjd 04-09-2006 08:01 AM

That was on 3-25-2006. I was thinking about parting it out then. Now I have a different project and AM parting out the T/A. Sorry if that bothered you. Don't recall "numerous" e-mails and such, but oh, well. Sorry, "Dawg"!

Yes, guys. Be careful. Run a search on me. I am good to go.

Now that we have taken care of the peanut gallery and window shoppers lets get down to business.

Thanks,

Steve

Update:

Let's see if I can answer some requests here:

82FirebirdTA: The grills look to be in good shape. No breaks or sagging. Very straight. They appear to have been painted at one time. They are still black. PM me with your e-mail address if you want a picture or two.

ling427ttvette: There are no tan items in this car. Sorry! I am not sure if Camaro & Firebird door handles or pulls are interchangeable. Maybe someone else on here can answer that question.

1982TA: PM sent. Need more info, please!

cooltc2004: I am going to send you a PM right after this post.

Jproz1167: The power seat track with switches and cover will be $55 shipped. It is heavy and a weird size. That price is out to another member as well.

Everything is still up for grabs. Make a request and/or an offer!

Thanks,

Steve

What color are they then? They look to be tan.. Surely they would match better than the grey ones that I have in there now. :(

Everything is still available:

No one has paid for anything nor have they notified me that payment is on the way, so everything is up for grabs. I am only going to keep this car for a couple of more weeks then it is off to the junkyard.

Please make reasonable offers if you contact me. I certainly would appreciate it.

Let's go.......time's a-wastin'!

Daytona T/A 04-16-2006 12:24 AM

Cargo Door: SOLD! Thanks, Head!
Charcoal Rear Panel: SOLD! Thanks, Head!

Plenty of nice parts here. I am going to finish stripping the car in the next few days.

Great console and lid. Excellent charcoal and black interior. Mint dash pad, very nice tail lights, nice functional headlight assemblies, sweet, low mileage instrument cluster, t-tops and like new t-top bag, Holley 4 BBL carb, lots of good stuff. Just ask. Make an offer. Let's make a deal!

Kevin: Sorry about the cracked fan shroud.
Daytona T/A: Want that shifter plate?
Dmond02: Still interested?

tpi-hearse 04-20-2006 11:40 PM

She was a good car and ran good, just don't have the time or interest for it. Too many other projects on the table, but am trying to concentrate on my '68 Cougar. The Camaro convertible needs nothing and my son's '86 or '87 Firebird is pretty much done.....so......this one is going to clear out the driveway.

PM sent on the tail lights.

how much for the door panels shipped and is the pasenger side in as good condition as the driver thanx.

shipfitter_sjd 04-21-2006 03:35 PM

Door Panels

The price of the door panels is not so much a factor as is the shipping. Boxing and shipping these UPS Ground Residential is about $40.00. It is not weight that is a factor, just the size of the panels and buying a box and packing material.

I would sell them both shipped for $60.00. I make about $20.00 on the deal.

They are both in nice condition. Not perfect by any means, but as nice as the pictures show:http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...2318506_12.jpg

damn...

just kick the teeth of those who have one of these early third gen birds who are trying ot put one together from the rust mess of one that we have

crazy,,, :/

these parts could be found on a rust bucket or wrecked one, etc.

You Are Entitled To Your Opinion.....

......however selfish or unrealistic it may be.

How many cars have YOU ever just given away? I would suspect none.....so why should I?

I like to look at it this way: The car was not doing anyone any good sitting in my driveway. Now, I am helping out dozens of other 3rd genner's rehabilitate their rides. Organ transplants. I do not think I am selfish for parting out this car nor was it a waste.

I do care. That is why I sold the car, bought it back and held on to it for the 6 years or so that I owned it. That is why it still ran and drove and was always clean and dry on the inside. Now someone else can benefit from the things that I care about.

I have never been told that i have $$$ or been in the same class as TV producers, etc. I guess I should chuck my job building ships and getting flashes and burns from welding and plasma cutting....just hang up my blue collar.

All you need is a job. Look and you can find all sorts of nice things in the world. Money will follow as will nicer cars. Pry yourself away from the TV and the stupid car makeover shows.

So, did you want to buy anything off of my "baby"?

Thanks for the feedback,

Steve
