welded axle tubes is anybody welding the axle tube on the 7.5 10 bolt .I have heard that this should be done so the tubes don't spin in the housing:huh: |
ive also heard it should be done, but i also heard it HAS to be tig, but i dont know anybody who tigs, and all the shops around me are rip offs |
I welded my axle tubes, i used a mig welder. It was a 3 phase 480V one though. The tube itself would twist in half before the weld broke. TIG welding in best for aluminum, stainless and making real pretty welds because its clean. MIG can be just as strong and just as pretty if done properly. |
what are the tubes and center section? where in wisconsin are you? wanna do it for me, ill throw a few bucks your way;) |
I have a mig ,tig ,and stick welder so that is not a problem thank's for your info .Did u fasten the rear someway to keep it from moving while it is being welded.did u weld them solid or stitch weld them.thank yo foryour time |

They shouldn't charge you much to just weld the tubes real fast. |
