welded axle tubes

is anybody welding the axle tube on the 7.5 10 bolt .I have heard that this should be done so the tubes don't spin in the housing:huh:

I welded my axle tubes, i used a mig welder. It was a 3 phase 480V one though. The tube itself would twist in half before the weld broke. TIG welding in best for aluminum, stainless and making real pretty welds because its clean. MIG can be just as strong and just as pretty if done properly.

I'm in Oshkosh, i'll do it if you bring me the rearend, but your probaly better off just taking the rear out and taking it down to a weld shop in your area. They shouldn't charge you much to just weld the tubes real fast.
