92 Firebird Supercharged LS1 swap 4 Attachment(s) Lets see if there's any interest in the old girl. For me, the fun is in the building and she's all but done 92 Firebird base Started life as a L03/4L60, now has an 03 LM7 (20,000 miles est) and 98 4L60E (80,000 miles est). Swap has approx 11,000 miles on it. ODO shows 306,000, only thing that high is the chassis itself. Every bolt on this car has been turned atleast once by me. It's as rebuilt as they come Swap was done last winter, had a few hiccups but she's ever reliable now. Got bored with the NA setup and mounted one of my M90's on it for that extra kick. It really screams Engine: 03 LM7 long block C5 LS1 cam swap Mildly ported heads Fresh top end gaskets New LS2 coils Exhaust: Mandrel 2.5 Y-pipe No cats 3" mandrel intermediate pipe 3" LM1, slash cut just under bumper (hidden) Control system: 0411 LSx PCM, dyno tuned Hidden harness, stock mounted PCM location Stock hookups, functional ALDL, functional gauges, everything works, no rats nest 85mm MAF Power Adder: Eaton M90 S/C, rebuilt with about 600miles on it. Custom mount/ducting setup 31x12x3 FMIC 3" mandrel ducting from SC 4" mandrel intake Full silicone couplers and matching T-bolt clamps Billet bypass valve with 3 springs Fuel system: Walbro 255 intank Full AN6 braided SS lines tank to rails C5 regulator/filter combo Billet Fuel rails New Ford redtop 36lb injectors Suspension/Chassis: Spohn tubular K-memeber Spohn LSx swap mounts Custom trans crossmember Full energy susp bushings all around Poly motor mounts WS6 springs WS6 sway bars Billet 2" wheels spacers (no issues) OEM (no knockoffs) Y2Ks, 17/18's. 90% up front, about 60% left in the rear Interior: 2000 TA beige power leather seats (matches the 92 doe skin interior) 1Aauto black carpet 2000 Z28 monsoon CD player New parts (new at swap or since): Oil pump Alt PS pump Fuel pump Injectors Motor mounts The bad stuff: Commuting to college has taken it's toll on the paint job. It needs a new one. If no one grabs the car up, I may end up doing this over the winter. Headliner is turning brown from age and generally looks awful. Some lady dented my pass door pretty good, so it's currently rocking the door off my GTA. Its a POS with rust bubbles and glitter in the paint, but from a distance it looks the same. I have a mint door to go with the car, problem is it's white. All would be peachy with a paintjob Extras: Both cupholders are present Hatch pull down and release both work Glass t-tops dont leak unless you go through a pressure washer car wash Extra pass door Tinted tails Digital cruise control 20-23mpg depending on how much you hotfoot it. 27+ N/A Headlight motors work flawlessly (rebuilt 2 years ago) Braided AN6 SS trans lines with all fittings (got tired of the stock lines leaking) Chassis has ABSOLUTELY NO RUST ANYWHERE. Repeat, no rust anywhere (pics below) Pics from autofair Attachment 405179 http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...d/DSC01739.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...d/DSC01740.jpg Attachment 405180 Old pics N/A Attachment 405181 http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...d/DSC01745.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...d/DSC01748.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...d/DSC01749.jpg Inside the engine http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...1/DSC01763.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...1/DSC01798.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...1/DSC01799.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...1/DSC01807.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...t/DSC02006.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...t/DSC02007.jpg Current setup Attachment 405182 http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...t/DSC02042.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...t/DSC02040.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...t/DSC02039.jpg Trans lines http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...t/DSC02041.jpg Under carriage (pre-K-member/trans lines) http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...1/DSC01815.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...1/DSC01674.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...1/DSC01673.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...DSC01666-1.jpg Overall, its a fun little car. Quicker than most, but nothing excessive. Loads of torque, very reliable. Pretty darn loud too. Asking $7,800 or reasonable offer. The more stuff I fix/upgrade, the higher that will go. I dont have to sell it, so dont insult me. I may consider selling the drivetrain as a complete dropout. Engine, trans, exhaust, fuel, wiring, PCM, S/C, etc Partial trades considered for 91-92 birds, V6/V8/TBI/TPI/roller, anything with a good chassis and a clear title. Might even go for a 99-02 TA :driving: |
Re: 92 Firebird Supercharged LS1 swap that car is indeed sharp as hell!:) |

Re: 92 Firebird Supercharged LS1 swap What I would give to have that drive train in my GTA... Good luck! |
Re: 92 Firebird Supercharged LS1 swap Did you ever dyno it before or after the m90 swap. Really wonder what kind of time that supercharger has trying to keep up airflow at hi rpms in that car. |
Re: 92 Firebird Supercharged LS1 swap 273/320 to the wheels. Auto eats alot of that up, should be around 340hp at the crank 5psi down low, 1psi up top. It's not too small per-say, but it's not huge either |
Re: 92 Firebird Supercharged LS1 swap Got any more pics of how you ran the intake tubing? I've read putting a M62 or M90 is possible on V6 cars, and I thought I'd give it a try. |
