Anyone Make 160MPH Gauges

1 Attachment(s)
I have been waiting a long time to see someone, or company make a factory style 160 or more MPH speedometer. I was able, although poorly, make a gauge inlay using the limited tools at my disposal. Anyone know of something like this in production?

I am looking for a Oem Exact style but higher than 140.

The factory gauge is internally mechanically limited to about 145mph iirc.
If you want to get silly, you can cut the electric signal in half to the speedo (with a quick wiring trick from the factory VSS box) and then have the gauge made to read to 280mph

You can always follow my lead and switch over to aftermarket gauges: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/inte...i-made-my.html
I got the idea from this member's thread: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/afte...order-led.html
He has a firebird and while the pictures have diappeared I believe that he was able to use the existing gauge holes to mount the gauges so he didn't have to chop up a bracket and use a piece of ABS like I did.
I thought about getting a 160 mph speedometer but in the end I don't think this car will ever break 140 mph in the quarter mile so I went with the 140. Plus the lower the speedometer displays the easier it is to read quickly.

Here is a GPS based 4" speedometer:http://www.speedhut.com/gauge/GR4-GP...-and-high-beam)
You can still run your VSS to your ecm or you can buy a non-GPS based speedometer for a little less money. But the thought of knowing that I can change gears, rear ends, tire size, rim size and transmissions as much as I want and never have to worry about the accuracy of the speedometer is music to my ears.
