Firebird radio/hvac pod

One of the areas around the mounting bolt has broken on my radio/hvac pod. What kind of glue is best to repair this piece?

Is it abs, or should I use gorilla glue?

IIRC, it bares an ABS logo molded into it somewhere.

My was broken in several places. I went through a couple of iterations, and many steps to repair it. I used Gorilla Glue for the vinyl, JB Weld with mesh reinforcement, and even metal straps and screws. But thus far, it's holding up nicely.

Repairs start at post 151 here.

If it's abs, I could use abs cement then.

It was stamped ABS on the back, so I used some ABS cement. Seems like a strong bond, just like abs plumbing pipe.

Acetone for abs.

Main ingredients for ABS Cement are: MEK, ABS resins and Acetone.

And acetone itself welds abs. So if you don't want to add material: acetone.

Yeah, wish I'd have tried that with mine. If I ever have to re-do another one, I'll keep this in mind.

My center console is coming out this winter for a refresh. We'll see what it may need.

Ya, but the wife didn't want to share her nail polish remover, so I used the abs cement.

You could just get a replacement one...I'm sure someone on here has one they'd part with for cheap.
