C4 seat swap - what it actually takes I've seen a few threads that say they take a little fab work to make fit but I hate how vague that is so I decided to try myself when I found a pair on Facebook for $40. So far I have only got the passenger side partially done but in the car. Still need a lot of finalizing and cleaning up but I hope this will clear up what needs to be done for future people searching. Pictures show where the seat bottoms need to be trimmed to clear the arms for the sliders as well as the amount of spacer needed to sit in the car at a reasonable angle. Hopefully I can get the driver side knocked out in the morning and take some better pictures https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...1dab22ac8f.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...c661f60e26.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...8619d9f18b.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...0870ba4e9c.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...93e8c68614.jpg |
Re: C4 seat swap - what it actually takes Wow, original C4 cloth seats like that are pretty rare. Also surprised how good they look in a 3rd gen! |
Re: C4 seat swap - what it actually takes They are that seats that came in my 88 Vette although I'm not sure if they are original. Not perfect but better than the seats that came in the trans am |

Just like 3rd gens, there's no source for the correct original cloth pattern. Unlikely that they've been recovered, unless it was decades ago. |
