LS to firewall clearence th400 trans?? Okay i just got my engine in and i bought motor moutn adapters and had to cut the mounts off the K-member and wels solid mounts in. Anyways I had to set the engine back 1 inch from the factory (according the the swap plates) Just so it would mount up with the TH400. Basically once I got the mounts welded in I have about 1/2 inch clearence on the driver side head. Is this normal when using a TH400 or 700r4 in the stock location? I didnt wanna have to get another driveshaft made since my was basically new and i have already shortened it and have 600 into it. Here is a pic of the clearence. Jay For anyone wonder....gonna be a forged 370ci with a single T6 turbo ;) http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p...DSCF0023-2.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p...h/DSCF0022.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p...DSCF0021-2.jpg |
Re: LS to firewall clearence th400 trans?? Yes its tighter to the firewall than a SBC. For that reason I recommend installing the harness before putting it in the car or atleast the trans and rear cyl head ground wiring |
