Rollcage question

Hey guys

My car is going to be running faster than 11.49 shortly. Have a few more things to finish up then it heads to the track.

I can't really find anything on the NHRA website except that yes, a rollcage is required for everything hard top that's below 11.49.. do I need a 4 pt? 6 pt?

Thanks

Re: Rollcage question

A 6 point roll "bar" is required below 11.50. You can get away with a 5 point using only a driver door bar but everyone adds the passenger side making it a 6 point. A 4 point roll bar is cosmetic and won't pass a 11.49 and quicker tech inspection.

You'll also need:
Single layer fire jacket
Valid date coded SFI 5 point harness - They're only good for 2 years
SFI Clutch shield if a manual transmission
A driveshaft loop was required at 13.99 with slicks and 13.00 with street tires.
Metal valve stems on all tubeless tires

It's not called a cage until it has a halo bar and a-pillar bars.

Re: Rollcage question

single layer jackets are relatively thin and not hot at all. under $70 from summit too ;)

Re: Rollcage question

I have to wear a double layer jacket and pants. Sitting in a black car in the standing lanes gets very hot.

Just a single layer jacket isn't bad.
