My 92 camaro RS project. 3 Attachment(s) Im not sure if this is right place so dont kill me lol. I am building a street/drag camaro YOu can see what im doing in my signature.Id like to share pics with yall of my project that has begun. So far i have my motor done. hope u like |
The makings of a beast. You'd better up the stall another 1000. Single plane intakes don't do well down low. Hope the 10-bolt can handle it. |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. Yes i know i hope the rear holds up should be ok not like ima be running low 10's or nothing its getting completly redone with better stuff cept posi buti got few of them... I like the intake ill try it out. Should do well. What yall think ill run? |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. looks good man, im jealous, quite jealous |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. quite a bumpstick you have there. your gonna want steeper gears but on a 10bolt it wont last long. |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. Maybe 4.10 gears? I dont really think my 10 bolt gonna go that fast im not gonna be running faster then 11.5+ ive seen people get deep into the 10's with 100's of races using 10 bolt Im glad yall like it soo far for what i paid for it should be very likable lol |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. you should go pretty quick with that car man... atleast low 11's |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. It will be pretty quick yes I do hope everything holds up im beefing everything up |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. Looks good man, Bet you cant wait to drive it. I would keep the 3.73s in the 10 bolt and if it breaks put 4.xx in the new rear you get. |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. Yea 3.73's cause ill drive it on road a lil to Does ne one think they got better setup for the rear for it to hold I have to use this 10 bolt |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. Very nice, good luck with everything. Definitely need to post up a vid when you get it done:nod: |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. 2 Attachment(s) My New flywheel My new springs There pretty thick lol |

When auto it went 10.0 with 1.38 60ft, have since transplanted all in to a 4th gen with 6 speed, replaced 3.73's with 4.10's and have slipped clutch to 1.50 60s thus far - scared to let it rip to fast with the standard. But stay with 3.73's for the pinion contact if you can.. My 87 loved 3.73's with 28" tall tire. stay with 26's and you will be just fine, but if you upgrade go 4.10s. Nice combo, good luck! |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. Maybe i should buy the eaton posi? would make it alot better? |

Maybe i should buy the eaton posi? would make it alot better? for the reason it could go at any moment - However I said that back in 2001 whan I started building the car. Its been running in 11s since 2003 and in the 10s since 2005, and coming less that a 1/10th from 9s in 2006. Really wanted to be one of the only people to go 9s on a 10 bolt. |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. Thats sounds great i hope mine is good whats ur axels and stuff? |

Re: My 92 camaro RS project. Will have more pics soon. Id like opinions if ne people have some TY for support and help. |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. i am very jelious of you. If only gas prices were through the freakin roof i would try to do a similar build and hope up my Z28 a little better. But since my car is gonna be a DD then i guess ill stick with the TPI... lucky lol great job. Keep us posted. |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. id say def. look into upgrading that 10 bolt. it wont last long with 3.73's and all that motor in front of it. dont forget about a nice set of tires too when its ready to roll. im gonna take a stab and say with practice and a sticky tire you could see mid to low 11's possibly 10's. |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. Thank you good thing theres lots of 10 bolts in the junk yard huh lol I jus really aint spendin 2600 on a rearend lol If 10 bolt does break I might give up and get one but well see |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. Are those duration cam specs at .050 lift? Or advertised? |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. That was degrees of duration But degrees of duration at .050 is 238/246 |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. 2 Attachment(s) Sorry to double post but i got some more pics of my progress. the first is before and the second is after. |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. <----------Very jealous man here I say 11's in the bag for sure |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. i agree with 11's for sure that ten bolt days are numbered id look on the boards in the classifieds for a 9 inch |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. Yes ifi could find a 9 inch for maybe 1500 id do it but id doubt that lol but im sure mine will be alright. i hope lol |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. Looks good man, glad to see it comming together. Deffinately have 11's in the bag. |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. Im sending the tranny off in a week to get it pro built with heavy duty everything and 3000 stall and starting to build my rearend in a week in a half should all will be coming to gether im waitin on my carb to come then will be ready to go ill have pics of everything soon =) |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. Might want some more stall with that combo. Something more along the lines of a 3600-3800. My other car woke up right away by changing stalls. Anything higher would be too high IMO, dont forget a nice tranny cooler! |

Re: My 92 camaro RS project. Im looking for a rear end right now...you guys got me worried im looking at this dana 60 and i may jus go with 4000 stall to be sure 8 days untill i start really getting it together cause its when i get my money. |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. Yeah dude, looks good. Count your lucky stars that you don't have to drive it to work right? lol. And ditto to the good luck on the 10 bolt. Maybe wanna try a billet aluminum cover with bearing supports? Wouldn't hurt your luck with it, that's for sure. Also, use a good RTV only on the rear cover, no gasket. Tom |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. yes thank you for ur opinion.. of i keep 10 bolt will do that.. I took tranmission to shop yesterday hes gonna build it to hold 500 hp 4000 stall corvet servo should be good |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. 3 Attachment(s) I got a few new lil things till the carb and water pump and dis. get here and trans gets done. |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. Very nice...I know how you feel on geting it back together, I just got mine up and running after a year.....And I too hope my rear holds up for alittle bit. |

Re: My 92 camaro RS project. eww shorty headers on that motor :) I'd like longtubes for that but oh well atleast they will fit much better |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. i got them cause they had lil collecter there was no way i could use long tubes and have enough ground clearence to get on my road lol the z28 has problems with it Z28 will be daily but ill use the rs for a while to get it broke in (hopefully wont get pulled over) |

Re: My 92 camaro RS project. 3 Attachment(s) more pics of the progress that is red water pump i know lol. Thats the rear end got moser axles richmond gears prolly cant tell but its been braced and 4 link suspension ill get pics of it when i get old exhaust out the way Thats my rims and tires thats street tires ill have mt drag radials on it soon enough gonna burn these up lol there 27/10.5 15's i have really tough springs its lifted up there sits nice nice drag stance ne way lol |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. i would go with a 9bolt, or if you are planing on pushing like 1000hp go with a ford 9in. a 9bolt is good for like 500+ hp and 9in is about double. i have a 9bolt in mine just upgraded to 345 and i love it. |

Re: My 92 camaro RS project. 9 bolt holds abit more power than a 10 bolt but for his build you need a 12 to reliably put the power down. I broke my 9 bolt spider gears with a bolt on L98 running low/mid 13's but cutting 1.7x 60's on slicks |
Re: My 92 camaro RS project. 1 Attachment(s) finally in waiting till monday to start cause im going out of town |
