Anyone use the Racetronix dual pump kit? Okay I have done a dual 255 setup on my last car. I see racetronix has the dual 255 and dual 320's on sale. I was wondering if anyone used this setup before? and if it fits in the stock tank. Obviously there would be some rigging to hold them somehow. Im only looking at this kit because I cant even buy the parts separate for this price and I really like the Y fitting. http://www.racetronix.biz/itemdesc.a...PA-680&eq=&Tp= |
Re: Anyone use the Racetronix dual pump kit? 1 Attachment(s) It will fit in the tank. I'm using a racetronix 340 and walbro 255 with the y fitting on a factory hanger. It works beautifully. Don't try to get by using the stock plug in the sending unit, a 340 will burn it up. I basically put a modified version of the Buick GN kit in. |
Re: Anyone use the Racetronix dual pump kit? For my twin 340 setup I used the stock bulkhead harness.. In stock form, the ground is isolated through the bulkhead then connects to the hanger once inside the tank, so I used the ground wire as the power wire for the second pump. I added a ground lug to the top of the hanger assembly itself (using a small bolt with a bit of JB weld for seal and two nuts on top side) and grounded the second pump the remainder of the factory ground wire where it goes the tubing. I also didn't use the factory connector on the outside of the tank harness but made my own 4 pin weatherpack connector. |
Re: Anyone use the Racetronix dual pump kit? I soldered an extra ground on my sending unit. I just didn't trust the factory intank wiring for that much current draw. The 340 draws around 12-14 amps at 14 volts. I figured I'd rewire it while I was there.... I don't want to drop the tank again lol. |
Re: Anyone use the Racetronix dual pump kit? Awesome so it appears to fit. I may go that route. Just waiting on all these black friday deals before I buy anything. Plan on picking up the pumps and injectors and my speedhut gauges. Thanks for that pic! Also I plan on re-wiring all the fuel wiring and making my own "hotwire" Kit. Jay |
Re: Anyone use the Racetronix dual pump kit? I've looked at that assembly but thought that the 3/8 inch outlet at the top of the assembly kinds of defeats the purpose of running dual pumps, or am I wrong? Both pumps have 3/8 outlets y-ing into together into one 3/8 outlet. Seems like it would be better to take those 3/8 outlets from each pump and run them to a -6 or -8 y outlet to feed the fuel feed line going to the front of the car. It does look good though, if that means anything. |

Re: Anyone use the Racetronix dual pump kit? Not sure if i understood that reply. So the billet aluminum dual pump holder has a 3/8 single outlet that is being feed by 2 3/8 pump outlets or is it a -6 single outlet? |

Re: Anyone use the Racetronix dual pump kit? The pump outlets are around 1/4 inch or so. The outlet of the coupler fits the factory sender. I cut off the part the pulse damper fits on |

Re: Anyone use the Racetronix dual pump kit? Not to partially hijack the thread, but how did you get the dual pump in the hole? I have racetronixs' billet y piece and stand for the sender. Just cant physically get them in the hole. Do you have to put one in on the sender and then the other pump in the hole and then get it in place on the y and stand? |
Re: Anyone use the Racetronix dual pump kit? It is very tight but it will fit. The float for the sender has to go in first. The pump mount is the hardest part to get in, but with a little persuasion it will go in. |
Re: Anyone use the Racetronix dual pump kit? I ended up holding off on ordering this since their black friday deals didnt reflect the price. I think im going to go with the Dual 255's since they 320's draw a lot of amp's. I know when I did Dual 255's on my last iroc I had to position the pumps a few different times to get them to drop in proper. from what I hear the LS1 Plastic tank has a larger opening. I was gonna try to get one but to find one local is tough. Jay |
Re: Anyone use the Racetronix dual pump kit? Ok, good to know. Guess I will try again sometime over the winter. Thanks |
