Installed lowering springs on my sons GTA - HELP !! Like the title reads, we install a set of lowering springs on my sons 87 GTA this weekend and it came out looking like crap ! The springs were 1.75 drop all the way around and the result..... the front tire to fender gap went from about 4" to next-to-nothing ! And the rear didn't even change. Except for the shocks, I've rebuilt the entire front suspension and installed new bushings on the rear swaybar. Any ideas ?? |
Re: Installed lowering springs on my sons GTA - HELP !! did you install the front and rear springs on the wrong end? ie, fronts in rear and rears up front? |
Re: Installed lowering springs on my sons GTA - HELP !! nope, there's no confusing that. I just spoke with the spring manufacturer.... they sent me the wrong front springs. They'll be sending me another set, hopefully. |
Re: Installed lowering springs on my sons GTA - HELP !! What about the rears? You say they are the same as stock? Maybe you need to drive around a bit and have them settle in. |
Re: Installed lowering springs on my sons GTA - HELP !! If you installed the eibach pro kit in the rear, they don't drop the rear a bit, if your old springs are sagged they may even raise the car. For the fronts, did you install the isolator? You could order a thicker urethane one if needed. They are commonly sold for mustangs, i have used them on other cars with good results. |
Re: Installed lowering springs on my sons GTA - HELP !! what brand were the springs cuz i did the same 1.75" with the same result on my 90 IROC |
