Rear drums to rear discs

Ive got a 92 Z28 with a drum brake rear end. I got a 91 rear with disc brakes. Do I need to change the master cylinder or proporting valve?? I think someone told me they were the same for late model Camaros?? Thanks for the help.

The master cylinder is the same. In fact that's the same master cylinder that 82-88 f-bodies used for drum brakes (J50 option). I kept my original J50 in case I ever find the 89-92 rear discs in a junkyard.

If you don't trust me https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/wink.gif you can verify this through http://www.carparts.com . Put in both cars, and look up the master cylinders.. the part #s are the same.

As to the prop valve, I'm not sure... call a GM place up, and ask for the price of a disc/drum prop valve, and get the part number. Then call another GM place, and ask for the price & part # of a disc/disc prop valve. Then, let us know if they're different! https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/smile.gif
