Stock intake vs Edelbrock Performer RPM - pictures I thought the Performer was going to be much higher, but the freaking giant Holley adaptor is what is going to kill me. http://homepages.udayton.edu/~kulcha...ifoldsback.jpg Two more pictures: http://homepages.udayton.edu/~kulcha...omanifolds.jpg http://homepages.udayton.edu/~kulcha...ifoldsside.jpg Just incase you were curious as to how the Performer RPM compares in size to the stocker. |
When you measured the clearances, how much did you have to work with? I'm planning on doing the same kinda swap and was wondering if I should go Performer RPM w/EGR (carb) + adapter or Performer TBI RPM w/adapter. If it still manages to fit let us know! |
I installed a Vortec performer RPM yesterday. I have about .375" clearance to the highest point of the breather to the hood. I used a .375" tall adapter plate. I also have a 1" taller breather top installed with a stock bottomed breather. You might fit that setup with a stock height breather. |
hello all, i've been hanging out for a while but I just got my login stuff straight. Will a regular (carbed) manifold work ok with the TBI adapter? I got a RPM Air gap in my shed but it for a carb and my current vehicle (1989 Trans Am TBI 305/700r4). I'm just curious if it would work ok? Thanks |
Yeah but notice how much higher the runners sit on the Edelbrock compared to the stock unit. |
You can get you adaptor milled down thinner at a machine shop if it's too tall, and what monkey have you been letting take off your wheels? That center cap in the last picture sure is dinged up bad!!!! |
what kind of air filters are you people using (dont have one on there right now)? I donno about you but i had to do some ghetto riggin' to get all my stuff to bolt up to the edel. intake. I had to move my brake booster hose to where the vacuum port for the climate climate control is and my coil sits closer to the tb then it did before. |
looks good. thats my next mod. was about to buy it but i suddenly got a few other expenses (well one....female) |
