Need guide plate w/World S/R Torquers ? I was thinking of installing roller rockers on my new crate motor before doing the motor swap. Do I need guide plates if I use non- self aligning rocker arms? S/R Torquer heads are like older chevy heads that have small oval shaped holes for the push rods that are fairly tight clearenced. Yes, if you're not using self-aligning rockers then you need guideplates. Jason |
If the heads have slots that locate the push rods with less than about .015" or so of clearance, then you don't need guid plates or SA rockers. There needs to be one AND ONLY ONE method of establishing rockerr alignlment, out of 3 choices: slots, guide plates, or SA rockers. Any of them works OK, just pick the one most suited to your application. If you have more than one of these things, you will probably have them fighting each other, and something will be in a bind. ------------------ "So many Mustangs, so little time..." I went home for lunch and they measured .012" total clearance. ------------------ Tom K. 84 Z-28 M5 305 L69 HO pulleys,coil,3:73(stock) Jet chip, fan switch, Al dshaft,1.6 rockers, LCAs and brackets,BFG DRs 14.20 @ 96.74 2.02 60ft |
