Arg... Oil pan WOES! It came out but WTC! what the crap. I use an engine lift to pull the motor up high enough to remove the oil pan. I braze my fitting into it for the oil return lines, then walaa... IT WONT GO BACK IN! Im ABOUT to drop the tranny off completelly, Ive spent HOURS trying to line the motor high enough and far enough back to clear the K-member. I just want to know any tips/tricks before I go ripping out the tranny just to replace the oil pan. Im thinking maybe if i just jacked it up from the flywheel instead of pulling the motor up/forward with the lift. suggestionsS??? |
Jacking it up by the flywheel does NOT sound like a very good idea to me.. |
are you sure the fittings are not hitting somthing ie. webbing or a main cap ... use a mirror to see what the hang up is ... good luck ... tao |
Does the pan have any baffles in it? Is the pump pickup maybe hitting it? |
I hate this thing. I messed with it for 4 hours today, and NOTHING. Im going to have to pull the trans away from the motor. It hits the K-member, or the flex plate. if I lift the motor high enough to clear the flex-plate, the motor moves far enough forward that the sump in the oil pan hits the K-member. if i drop the motor low enough to clear the K-member, it is no longer high enough to clear the flex plate. WHAT A PAIN!!! |
