Dang dipstick tube...

Does anyone else have trouble getting a good oil reading? Everytime that I try to check my oil level it comes out with oil all over the length of the stick.

proper oil checking procedure;

1;warm engine to operating temperature

2;turn engine off and allow to sit for 1-3 minutes

3;remove dipstick and wipe with a clean shop towel(never paper)

4;insert dipstick in tube fully and remove quickly

if you still have the problem,try turning the dipstick around.you are only looking for the highest point on the stick where oil makes contact all the way across.

if that doesn't help check your pcv valve

Why never paper?

It can't be because of fiber contamination, right?

I think I'll give you the benefit of the doubt since you have alot of work done that you can check your own oil level. I'm not sure how much a pipe cleaner would contaminate your oil, but I'd try someone like that. Sounds like its rubbing against the sides and leaving excess oil along the tube.

Thanks Josh, yeah I know the proper way to check my oil. It will always come out with oil all over it, no matter what. I have an open element, with a breather on one side and the PCV on the other. The PCV is good, I replaced it not too long ago. I do get some "blowby" though. I don't know if my open element and breather are causing it or not.
