Did I get the right gasket? When I placed my vortec head/tpi base order with soggin dickey I asked for head gaskets and didn't think twice. I don't know anything about these so please help me out. Here is what I got GM performance parts #10185054 http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?act...id=576&pid=733 This is for a stock L98 with vortec heads. Should I send these back and ask for some thinner fel-pros? Thanks!! ------------------ -='89 Iroc-Z - 350 TPI =- http://www.detroitmuscle.cz28.com/sig.jpg |
I don't think it makes much of a difference, those will work and are not too much thicker than stock replacement gaskets. |
If your car has a 350, you'll probably like the extra chamber volume to lower the comression. I got my Vortecs from SDPC, and I've been real happy. One thing is the rocker arms: make sure you have self-aligning, or use pushrod guideplates. Good luck, and let us know how it turns out. ------------------ Jeff '85 Berlinetta, Special Beater Edition Mods include a 4bolt 350 with 280*, .460 lift cam, Vortec heads, Comp Cams roller tip rockers, Edelbrock TES headers, no other exhaust :D . Also, rusted parts on all 4 corners, and crumpled fenders, thanks to the previous owner. |
