Car Blows Blue Smoke, Cant Pass Emissions. back again with my second question, you guys helped me figure out the part in my first question and i fixed that part. but now I have another question, i apologize if this was already asked a million times, but what can make your car blow out blue tinted smoke when you first crank it up? i know its oil being burned but what can you do to fix this? i took it to a shop and they said they dont wanna try and fix it because i would need a new motor, i know there has to be other options for this fix. but until i fix it i cant pass emissions and my tags are already expired. the car only blows out the smoke like 1 out of every 8 times i start it up. and the shop said they had the rpms up and it was puffing smoke like a cheminy. i will test that later myself... any suggestions on how to fix this? any and all help would be appreciated. my car is a 1992 chevy cam, with the 5.0 TBI engine. |
Re: Car Blows Blue Smoke, Cant Pass Emissions. Valve guide seals are a known problem on sbc. What part of the emissions test are you failing? |
Re: Car Blows Blue Smoke, Cant Pass Emissions. blue smoke on start up is usually worn valve seals. not hard to change, even with the heads still bolted down. |
