bogging/ stalling/ high idle

I have a 90 RS 305 TBI car runs fine for about thirty minutes then starts to bog at random intervals even while accelerating sometimes if I feather the gas I can keep it going. If I let it sit for a while it will run fine again for a while even with the engine temp at operating temp. I'm thinking it may be the fuel pump; is it possible that the pump is running hot and starts to fail until I shut the car off for a bit?

You can check fuel pressure to illuminate the pump. It could also be the ignition control module in the distributor they commonly fail when heated up.

I guess I should start with getting a fuel pressure valve (T bar valve I think) hook it between the TBI and fuel line right?

Correct , some testers allow you to place where the fuel filter goes. Drivers side rear frame rail. I think tbi fuel pressure is 10-12psi.

Re: bogging/ stalling/ high idle

I went ahead and tested it it stayed at 11 PSI, but it wasn't bogging at this point I have to drive it around for a bit before it will bog. On another note I was doing some research into the charcoal canister/ vapor canister and am focusing on that a bit because that sounds like that could be my issue as well. I can't find that much information on them nor do I really understand how it works. Anyways I have the enclosed canister I think from 89 and up does anyone know how to tell if those go bad or if there's a way to reuse it since it doesn't have a reusable filter?
