Pushrod length & Guide Plates???? Bought some aluminum corvette heads..and self aligning crane 1.5 gold roller rockers. Do I use stock pushrods? Do I need to install pushrod guides. I have an 88 formula 350 with hyd roller cam. Thanks for your help. Marty |
You have to use stock length hardened pushrods if you install guideplants. I was under the impression all aluminum l98 heads came with guideplates and screw in studs already. |

The screw in studs are there but I don't see any guide plates of course I'm assuming they mount under the screw in studs right??? Just aluminum from what I can see. About ready to remove the valve covers from my original L98 350 to see what the stock setup looks like. Thanks for the reply! Marty |
What you need to know about the rockers & guide plates... https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...threadid=77948 You do not need to change the push rods because of the rocker & head change. You meay need different ones for other reasons. If your cam is small, less than .310" lobe lift or so, your stock push rods should be OK. |
