Do I need the brake light switch wired to ecm for custom TPI conversion?

Hey guys, I'm out in the garage finishing wiring my Painless MAF TPI conversion on my fuelie headed 327. The Painless harness has a wire that connects to the brake light switch with an SPDT relay. Basically, when the brakes are not on, this wire to the ECM receives 12V, and when the brakes are depressed the relay removes the voltage. Painless says this signal is for the lockup converter, so it knows when to unlock. I have a 4 speed manual. If I just leave this wire not connected to the brake switch, will the ecm still be happy?

It should work fine without that connected.
