vortec FIRST tpi hey guys i have interest in switching my baseplate over to a vortec style FIRST intake and run vortec heads...... would this be an improvement over the standard FIRST running iron l98 heads..... i just dont want to spend 1700 dollars on afr heads after getting them milled down to 60cc and accessory holes drilled and tapped for it... i just want to achieve 355whp and i think that vortec heads can get me there without the crazy expense of afr priced heads... what do you guys think...... how does this combo sound 355 block vortec heads modded to take .550 lift gm hotcam vortec FIRST TPI vigilante 2800 stall... |
Re: vortec FIRST tpi was thinking about running these... im not sure if they are any different than standard heads other than the size of the cc and being able to take .520 lift.. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-151124/ also it doesnt say if it has screwed in or pressed in studs... |
Re: vortec FIRST tpi ok i did my research and come to find out they flow less than standard gm vortecs... so im scraping the vortec idea.... |
Re: vortec FIRST tpi You can get AFRs for less than what you posted. The 195s would suit your 355 needs. Question? Did you knock down that bulge in the intake track on your First where the injector is? That is way larger than it needs to be. If it was mine I would grind it all the way but make sure there is enough material for the injector o-ring to seal. |
