4l80E ? I have to do one for a friend and have never been in one. Big deal to do,or no biggie? Parts sure are pricey though. If anyone has any tips, toss them my way. |
What are you doing, replacing or rebuilding? Internally, it's almost identical to a TH400 and uses many of the same parts. |
what year 4l80e? the '96 and earlier were just like a 4oo with an overdrive attatched to the front and an electronically controlled valve body. '97 and up, they changed the lube path and moved one of the cooler lines to the center of the case to provide lube through the center support. in these later versions, the cooler line fitting has to be taken out prior to removing the center support or else you will damage it. |

it shouldn't be too bad. just be careful with that rear cooler line fitting. there are little differences between '98 and '99. when looking for replacements parts (if necessary), make sure to keep that in mind. |
