th350 + 3.42rear ?

Just wondering if this is a bad setup. The rear is already in and i can get a th-350 for $150. THe guy with the tranny said id hear it whine, but i heard from a guy that was running 4.10 and it was fine.
Also can i change the the 700r4 cross member or do i need to get a th350 bracket.
If someone has one cheap and is willing to ship let me know. thanks guys and let me know asap.

ratio has nothng to do with what you hear, or don't hear. as for it being a good combination a little depends on the engine, but you never mentioned having an engine. look at the b&m kit. i use to know the pn, 30029 might be it.

I was using a th700 with 4.10 with 27"tires it was fine like 2300rpm at 65MPH.
Then i swap to a th350 still hade th 4.10 it was ugly 3500 at 60mph so i switch to a 3.42 its now pretty fine for me 3000 at 67 mph.I like the th350 close ratio is very good for the 1/4 mile... in my advice bether than the th700 but got no overdrive its a good for a bad...

th350

:iagree: with smok, i just put a th350 in one of my thirdgens with a 4.10 gear, it rocks the eighth mile hard, but 3500 rpms down the highway gets old fast. not to mention it kills the gas mileage. but it does make it a blast to drive in town.

it really depends on how much you drive on the highway
