tv cable with the kickdown cable disconnected on a tpi should the car still change gear, i take it it does'nt. ive just fitted a different engine and box but waiting for the kickdown cable to arrive, i took it for a spin today with out the cable and it stayed in 1st would not shift i take it this is right |
Re: tv cable Don't drive it this way, you will kill the trans! The TV cable does so much more than just kickdown. Running around without it, you have only around 50 psi line pressure, while normally you need around 200 at half-throttle. You don't always get that, but 50 psi at full throttle WILL kill the trans. I've been there, done that. |
Re: tv cable cheers, the cars off the road anyway i just went down the lane and back with it, ill get one on it asap then |

It controls shifting a lot more than some people give it credit for. I remember when my tv cable was out of adjustment I could hardly get the thing to shift out of second without peddling the throttle. |
Re: tv cable ok should be alright then, it did not change out of first but the cables off all together so surely when its on it should make it change, im only woried as its a different box ive never seen work |
