Assorted Transmission questions... Beginning to mod in this direction.

Hello, I own a 91 Firebird L03 with the 700R4...

I have done a few upgrades to the car to help the engine breathe, and stiffen the suspension, so I am now looking to firm up the shifts the right way, and want to learn a bit more about what I am doing first...

1. I am getting a jet stage II chip that will control torque convertor lockup... What does this mean?

2. I want to get my hands on a transgo high performance shift kit, where can I find them, and for how much?

3. I have heard a lot of good things about installing corvette's smaller diameter piston & housing, what all does that do?

4. What is the difference between a regular, off the shelf dextron III transmission fluid, and a fluid like B&M's trick shift fluid?

Thanks for looking at all of these questions,

Clint

http://www.hptransparts.com/MM007.ASP?pageno=89 for the Kit.

http://www.hptransparts.com/MM001.ASP?pageno=172 for the Servo

Skip the 'special' oils. Use quality Dexron oil and you will be fine.

Thanks for the reply, those prices surely beat what the dealer offered.
