Transmission slipping
 
What can I do about a slipping transmission
Besides taking it to a mechanic
I wanna fix it at home

Any advise on this
What can I do about it
What would I need to check

the only ways to fix it would be to rebuild or replace like the prev poster said but if you want it to just get by for now you can try some Lucas stop slip ...but if its slipping really bad you can also (this will only work for a little while) but you can dump 1/2 cup of brake fluid in the trans it will make everything swell up and the trans will grab and go ....but its also goin to eat up anything rubber in the trans so like i said it will get you by for a while but it wont last forever and the trans will need rebuilt or replaced

rebuild is NOT for the faint of heart do LOOOOTS of research and talking to people that know how to do the rebuild
