K SOURCE VS8 backup camera. Highly do not recommend. Along other issues, it dies less than a week after install. Unfortunately not covered under warranty because i did not install it until 5 months after purchase. Could see the screen while off and it actually obstructs view a bit due to the screen in the mirror. Overpriced, cheap, poor performance, poor features for $140 price and stopped working after a week of use. Now I have a $100 paper weight.

Following was a different camera that turned out to be great.

OEM Style Rear View Mirror Back Up Camera System by Rear View Safety - Highly recommended alternative. Screen is not visible until it is on. Much better mirror construction. Was able to get one for $170. Can hook up two cameras, has adjustable lanes, and couple of other features. Easier to hide camera and overall works great. This one has been working great for 6 months now on a 2013 Sonic

 

Which rear view safety system did you purchase? Was doing a bit of research on that company.....

I recommend getting OEM Style Rear View Mirror Back Up Camera System by Rear View Safety RVS-776718. It is hard to find it on sale because it is actually a good system.

K SOURCE VS8 is a cheap unit not worth installing even if it is free. Rock auto actually marks it up a lot. It is a $40 system that they list for $140.
