i feel like i went back to 1985 and bought a new car today

just bought a beautiful 1985 trans am with 10,000 miles on today ... man what a nice car !! one of my better finds ..

I didnt look under it but the rpo code in the console is gs4 which is 3.70 gears which would make it a nine bolt ..

That is a nice combination. L69 with 5 speed and borg warner 3.70 posi disc rear. The 3.70 was only available in 85/86 I thought with the 3.70 gear.

At 10k miles, it's just mechanically broken in. Hopefully the 10k miles were spread over the past 31 years instead of having accumulated those miles all in the first year.

I get that exact feeling you speak of each time I climb into my car. The smell of the interior is the same smell my 82 z28 had back in the 80's and immediately triggers that feeling of youth. A cruise in my IROC through my hometown with Eddie Money's "I want to go back" playing on the Bose and I'm instantly transported back to 1986!
