Pro touring hood? Hood vents?

I've been looking around and saw a really nice vented hood on a third gen but apparently it was only in Japan. IT sounds like 3rd gens are pretty popular over there. Most of the posts I saw about it were several years old. I'd like to know if this hood is available and how much it is, or where to find it and what it's called exactly.

Looks awesome! I am definitely going the pro touring route with mine. IT'S just going to take some time to get there.

However, I am also interested in the possibility of adding some heat extracting hood vents on the left and right side of my hood. I just need to see what's available and how possible or practical it is to do. ANY info on this would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking for some things similar to these...

I think they would look killer and also help greatly with performance.

Ya, some of those are pretty nice but quite expensive! I may go that route but definitely have to plan for it. Also, my hood is fiberglass so I need to know how to cut out the spots for them on it.

And is there anyone who knows what that Japan hood is or where to find it???

Re: Pro touring hood? Hood vents?

I've looked around quite a bit and it seems I'm down to these two options.
Both are made by BMC.

These are the Mamba. They run 199.99 for the pair and are aprox 6" wide by 13" long.

These are the Mustang GT style (yes, I know...) and look really nice! They go for 149.99 for the pair and are aprox 4" wide by 20" long.

I'm going to mark out a template on my hood of each one and see which one I like best.

Re: Pro touring hood? Hood vents?

So the templates I made were helpful, but neither will work with my hood. I want functional heat extraction and an aggressive look. I decided to go with vented fenders. I will be working on them within the next couple weeks and will post a link to that project when it's done.

How will these fender vents be functional? Z3 style? T/A style?

Yes, they will be functional. I'm using the late 70's early 80's Trans Am fender vents. Link to that project will be up soon.

I got my hood on ebay. It's a Duraflex hood. The name is something like "SS style". Google "third gen camaro SS style fiberglass hood." That should give you several options.
