Best cam for zz4 crate engine with TPI

Anyone have a suggestion for a hydraulic roller camshaft in a 85 IROC with a 350 zz4 crate engine ,TPI , 700 4R trans, stock converter. Stock ZZ4 camshaft doesn't seem to be computer friendly. Thanks in advance for any help. Bruce

Go with a stock L98 cam or have computer programmed.
If you're going to sell the ZZ4 cam, I'd be interested & I do have a stock L98 cam here in a box.

You can get your ecu tuned to the stock zz4 cam

The stock L98 cam is pretty weak, not sure I'd put it in a zz4 myself... (unless I was going for stock power, then whatever as it's plug and play)

www.scotthansen.net can mail tune tpi if you dont have anyone local. He can also tell you what cams he had success with, too.

An '85 Iroc needs a computer upgrade to be tuned properly. (later model)
So, stay with the ZZ4 cam and upgrade the system.

Have a ZZ4 cam in one of my 89s with mild mods and its doing ok on a stock tune. Yes, it'll get a tune soon.

I agree with dyno don, chuck that old 870 ecm and goto the 1227165. The zz4 cam is easy to tune here is the results from one I did live with 30#hr injectors. Alittle overkill on injector size but whatever.
Comp cams make a nice zz4 upgrade package if you go carb. Ltr and a ported or aftermarket intake or hsr would be a great upgrade as well.
