Pillar Pod Question

Pillar Pod Question

I am going to order a 2 gauge Pod, are the full pillar pods better than the partial? I am concerned with the esthetic look once installed..

Get a trippel partial. (my vote) I have a 3 full, and ended up cutting it.

Regarding Autometer pods...

With my car with the 2-gauge full pillar, the bottom pod sat on top of the dash pad pretty severely; I didn't like this.

I went with just the partial two gauge pod, pitched the press-in Christmas tree fasteners and used black oxide finished, 4-40 round head socket machine screws.

The downside to the partial pillar is you'll probably have to cut into the existing pillar trim panel to get gauge clearance and holes for the hook-ups. I used Stewart-Warner HD gauges and I had to do this. In hindsight, I probably wouldn't have even installed aftermarket gauges.

Yes, bottom pod pushes INTO the dash pad leaving a noticeable indentation.

Thats all I had to do -

I went with a triple pod in the full length A pillar. I had fitment issues but mine went into a convertible which has slightly modified a pillar covers. You may not have any issues with a hard top or t top.





In the future I may get another A-pillar and take the route that 841LE has shown.
