NP. Good luck finding a nice set of these 1 year only rims real close to you for to pick up. You might want to try Hawks but be ready for sticker shock. Shipping is expensive for a set of wheels. LMK if you change your mind. I could meet you in Savannah.
They came out in 84. With the white 15th Anniversary cars. Part of the ws6 package in 85/86. Replaced in late 86 with the pw7 crosslace "GTA" wheels. revived in 87 for the formula cars. last used in 87. They are everywhere on ebay. Usually 45-50 a rim 70 shipped.
Wow $75 for that wheel in that shape. I wouldn't pay anything over scrap weight for that wheel. If that is a $75 wheel mine are worth about $200 each. Mine have no curb rash, no clear coat peel or corrosion. I would rate that wheel a 2 out of 10 and mine 9 out of 10.
My info is about 10 years old and I really didn't research them a lot. I got them as a package deal of parts. What does the factory goldish color mean?
I believe you are talking about 15 x 7 wheels. I believe this style of wheel wasn't available until 86 in a 16 wheel. Again I've been out of the 3rd gens for over 10 years now.

Formula cars didn't use this wheel, they used a concave version of it.

My 87 came with these wheels in gold. It came from the factory as a black car with gold ground effects. I think this was the standard wheel that came with the WS6 package.
Ya the ebay prices can get a bit out of hand but I just used that rim as a reference. The N96 Rim did come out in 84. But only the 15th anniversary cars. These wheels only came with cars that had the Ws6 package in 85/86. My 1985 WS6 Trans Am had these. I still have them in my basement with oem Goodyear gatorbacks mounted.

The only special rim that was available in 86 was the NON-Dimpled GTA PW7 wheels. They came out in Late 1986. My 86 Ws6 Trans am has them. Notice the flat part of the spoke with no indent. The center cap and sliver lug covers I added. Like them better. Lastly I have seen a few 87 cars with the non dimpled rims. I think the factory wanted to get rid of the rest of the non dimpled wheels.
As for the color of the rim being gold. All Black, white cars with a gold accent, and some red cars with tan interiors. Got the N96 wheels with gold paint. It wasnt part of some special package or anything like that. The Rim itself is what is special due to it being the only visual hint to the car being a WS6, not the paint. If the car didnt come optioned with the ws6 Package the car would have had gold 15in wheels.
No sir, 87 Formula's used this wheel. 88-92 had the concave style
As mentioned earlier, the 16" convex version was first used in 84 and continued through 87. Should not be hard to find
Cool, learn something new about these cars all the time. Have to say I'm glad they came out with the concave version for the Formula's, they look much better IMO.
